Principal’s Message

Dear Students, Parents, and concerned community members,

As we move into September, there are some important dates to remember.  September 7^th is the Labor Day holiday; there is no school for students on that day.  First 9-weeks progress reports will be going live on Sept. 11^th.  We are hosting our Title I parent information night on September 15^th beginning at 6 PM.  We will offer it a second time on September 16^th at 9 AM in our school media center.  And then the district has a professional development day planned for September 25, so there is no school for students on that day.

We had a great first School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting last Thursday.  We would love to have more parents involved with our SAC.  If you are available and are interested in having a voice regarding our school improvement plan or how we spend our Title I money and our School Improvement Grant dollars, we would welcome you as part of the group.  Our next SAC meeting will be September 24^th.  We meet at 2:30 in the media center if it’s available or in Amy Moral’s classroom.

Incase you have not yet heard, this year our Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Varner, our 8^th grade Pre-Algebra Teacher.  Last year she had 82% of her students earn a year’s worth of growth, an amazing achievement.  Our non-instructional employee of the year is Ms. Tameka Howell, Ms. Howell is out Data Entry Clerk.  She has been with Zenith for many years and is an outstanding employee and truly deserves this recognition. 

Thank you, parents and families, again for your continued support of our teachers and staff for everything they do to make our schools exceptional places of learning. Together, we look forward to a bright and successful 2027 school year!
