Principal Message
From Principal Dr. Robert E. Studly, Sr. / Weekly Newsletter/ August 11, 2025
I have always enjoyed the first day of school, it’s like the first day of spring; a fresh start. What’s great about the first day and a fresh start, is no matter how you performed last year, you get to reset and start fresh. I can’t think of that many other businesses where every year you get a fresh start. So, enjoy it, honor it, and take advantage of it.
Being the first day, there will be a lot of talk about routines and procedures. Those routines and procedures are so important as they set the stage for success, and they set the ground rules, so everyone is on the same page. Students will be bringing home “back-to-school” packets with lots of information that needs to be filled out and returned ASAP. One of those items is the “Student Handbook”. A very important booklet that establishes an understanding of expectations between the student, family, and the school. Similar is the “Code of Student Conduct”. Your child will be provided with the code of conduct and both the student, and the parent are asked to sign form acknowledging receipt of the booklet (I realize the form says 2024-2025, but it is for this school year).
The next important item in your packet is the “Student Health Questionnaire”, This item gives permissions to the school health aid to assure your child is well taken care of during the school day and we can provide any prescribed medications for them. It also gives us some background information regarding the student’s prior health concerns that may be necessary during the school day.
Other information included in the packet is the “Consent and release to photograph, videotape, and/or interview student”. Often there are opportunities where the news paper will be on campus to highlight a special event taking place and they wish to take pictures. Please complete this form and return it so we can abide by your wishes if you choose not to allow your child to be photographed.
The Kid Guard Accident Insurance is an accident insurance policy that covers your child should they be involved in an accident. Please read the brochure and make the best decision for your family.
The Student Device Loan Agreement form is the agreement between the school district and the parent of the student to acknowledge receipt of the technology loaned to the student and the expectations of care that come along with that responsibility.
MyReaXiumApp is a great new way for parents to stay informed about their child’s bus. Parents can track the bus location, receive bus notifications, and ensure the student arrives to school on time. It’s a very useful tool for parents but you do have to sign up, just follow the guide.
There are a few other forms in the pack, please review them all as they are all important. I sincerely hope that you have a great school year.
Sincerely,
Robert Studly
